AIR CONDITIONING EFFICIENCY REGIONAL REQUIREMENTS

AIR CONDITIONING EFFICIENCY REGIONAL STANDARDS

As new mandatory standards to regulate efficiency for air conditioners sold in the Unites States came into effect on January 1, 2015. This standards originally set from the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 are not set up as "national requirements but rather diversified for each region as show below.

Northern States :13 SEER Minimum requirement for air Conditioning and 14 SEER for Heat Pumps (8.2 HSPF).

South States East : 14 SEER Minimum requirement for Air Conditioning and Heat Pump same as Northern states.

South States West : Same as South State East with the exception of the EER standards (12.2 for units less that 45,000 BTU and 11.7 over 45,000 BTU)

This new regulatory standards are applicable to all equipment.
